ABSTRACT
This contribution is to present two different ways to
apply planned conservation precepts to the urban fabric of the historic
centres. In particular, it will report the experiences carried out in the
context of two local administrations of the Brescian territory:
the municipality of Brescia and the municipality of Coccaglio
in Franciacorta. Both of these experiences arise from
the need to deepen issues related to conservation of architectural surfaces
outdoors, in urban scale, and by joining the call for funding of Fondazione Cariplo: "Promuovere le metodologie
innovative per la conservazione programmata".
The two projects have followed different paths,
summarized in the following two approaches:
• Planned
conservation applied to a diffused issue in a town historic built heritage (conservation of Medolo
stone surfaces in monuments of the historic centre of Brescia)
• Planned
conservation applied to diffused urban buildings of a historic center (preservation
of surfaces, plasters and finishes in the historic centre of Coccaglio).
Below are listed studies undertaken, achievements and
future developments of the two projects.
KEY-WORDS: planned
conservation, historic architecture (o historical buildings), stone facades, surfaces, medolo.
