ABSTRACT

The building, now university centre, is originally a monastic architecture composed of two cloisters and the church; this one has been built not later than the XIII century to which are generally referred the ancient frescoes still existing on the walls inside.

Historians regard to the façade as an important document of architecture renewed by the gothic language.

This contribution refers on the conservation of the façade itself. It deals with stone decay and the solution to grow less it. As an application of a well known kind of intervention, it proposes a new way of doing the work which is useful to improve the result of the treatment and to speed up it with an increasing economy for the whole work.
