ABSTRACT

The Villa Romana in Casignana, in the district of Reggio Calabria, is a very interesting archaeological site,

situatednearthesea,ontheIoniccoastofCalabria.

Thisgreatvillawasprovidedwitharichthermalbathsandvariousmosaics.

Todaythevillaisopentovisitorsbutitisn’tenoughvaluedandknown.

The essay want to explain the history of the monumental complex of Casignana, according to the scientific

resultsofarchaeologicalresearchesofthelasthears,startingfromthe1960.

Also we want explain a new project of restoration and valorization of the archaeological site, creating, with

modern technologies, a virtual reality to rebuild, ideally, the villa in her ancient beauty, with mosaics and

paintings.

The virtual rebuilding and the use of modern methodology to value this Calabrian monument will attract

morevisitorsandwillincreasethenotorietyofthearchaeologicalsite.

ThevalorizationwillexecutedwithMinisterialandEuropeanfundings.
