ABSTRACT

The aim of this paper is to think on the relationships among theorical issues, strategies to reach the sustainability objectives, and the related design and technical choices.

Many of the present restoration practices have to be reconsidered to replace many products and components today still in use with other solutions of similar effectiveness but compatible with the historical context, less dangerous for the workers health and work spaces risks and sustainable in reference to the integrity of the cultural good and the environment protection.

The sustainability subject requires not only careful technical solutions but also wide strategies as a starting point.
