ABSTRACT

The term " sustainability " refers to the characteristic of the processes, which realizes lower consumption of resources involved in the process itself. As part of the conservation of the architectural Heritage, the “renovation” is the process that is created, where the resource involved in the process, which is potentially "consumed ", is the material of which the object of the intervention is made; this resource is the object of tutelage and it is, as a cultural asset, a finite resource to be preserved. The conservation of this material is the basis and the goal of sustainability in restoration; interventions that pursue a lower consumption of materials, generally implement a less waste of economic resources. The Regional Directorate conducted a restoration and seismic improvment in the former Convent of the Santissima Annunziata , operating in this prospective, , with the choice of "minimal interventions"; the intervention has pursued the preservation of the object and the preservation of its own material, the construction techniques used, the process technologies and also the structural configuration and the individual membering mechanism and / or structural complex behavior. A "culturally sustainable " intervention has been done, which has implemented savings within the yard , thanks to which, it was possible to do operations and preparatory studies for future work.
