ABSTRACT

The technology, want to meet some of the window as an architectural element, but the window in question has a particular closure with a stained-glass window in the old buildings. We use a single float glass in the outer part of the “antello”, while the opposite side remains original. This new technology solves the problems of light refractions (in a side) and UV in addition to historical aesthetic problems. It 'also interesting from a point of view of conservation of the frame (in wood or metal). The intervention will be minimal, and performed work on site; in this way, we reduce the operations and costs of conservation and restoration.

Currently the system has been used in the church of San Zaccaria in Venice, in the Cathedral of Santa Tecla (Este, Padua) and the castle Buonconsiglio in Trento.
